The Pink Noise Riga music festival will open its spring session with a special concert program featuring young talent, Three Voices Session. This evening will be dedicated to the future of Latvian vocal music, bringing together three bright, diverse and promising artists on one stage – Gerda Timrota, JULIANNA and Marija Valmiera, who will be accompanied by a band led by musician Toms Poišs.
Gerda Timrota graduated from the jazz department of the Riga Dome Choir School this spring, has gained much of her stage experience in the M/Darbnīca jam sessions. This concert will be one of the rare opportunities to hear Gerda in Riga before she leaves for London, where she will continue her studies at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music.
JULIANNA The evening will be given a dynamic contrast by JULIANNA – a singer, songwriter and producer whose style has been shaped by influences from R&B, indie, pop and electronic music. The concert will give listeners an exclusive opportunity to be the first to hear some of the material from her upcoming studio album.
Marija Valmiera, known as the lead singer of the band The Coco'nuts and a member of the trio Kalnejas, will present herself as a powerful solo artist, performing both new original compositions and interpretations of songs by artists close to her heart. Marija's voice is rich, direct and emotionally precise – it speaks without beating around the bush.
