The contemporary music festival deciBels invites listeners to experience springtime vibes of European contemporary music with a diverse concert program. Artists from more than ten countries will participate in the festival, with a repertoire ranging from 20th-century academic music classics to funk and the latest experimental explorations in multimedia. Nine world premieres will be performed at the festival.
At the conclusion of the festival, we will enjoy a rare and important event in Latvian music life – a performance by the Belgian contemporary music ensemble Fractales, accompanied by Polish composer Marta Śniady's multimedia work How Can I Help You?. The concert will also feature JVLMA students Lauma Kazaka and Jēkabs Bernāts with premieres of their new works, accompanied by the classic opus Vortex Temporum by the renowned 20th-century composer Gérard Grisey.
