Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo is one of the most prestigious ballet companies in Europe and worldwide. In Riga, the artists will perform Romeo and Juliet with music by Sergei Prokofiev. This legendary production by Jean-Christophe Maillot has become the troupe's calling card and a benchmark for modern ballet drama.
Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo is a shining diamond in the Grimaldi family's treasure chest. It is the newest court ballet company in Europe – and at the same time one of the most famous. It has its own artistic signature, its own creative principles and a unique repertoire, created from scratch by leading contemporary choreographers – from Maurice Béjart, Jiří Kylián and William Forsythe to Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Marco Goecke. However, the troupe's main pride and joy is the ballets created by Jean-Christophe Maillot, artistic director of Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo since 1993.
