In this concert programme, the Latvian Radio Choir and conductor Sigvards Kļava invite listeners on a musical journey through the works of some of the most prominent representatives of Baltic and Eastern European sacred music. Alongside the choir, percussion instruments and the organ play a distinctive role, becoming full-fledged participants in the unfolding musical narrative — shaping a space where sound, silence and spirit converge.
The concert programme explores spirituality, silence and inner reflection through the music of Rihards Dubra, Giya Kancheli, Arvo Pärt, Maija Einfelde and Krzysztof Penderecki. Sacred choral works and meditative compositions invite the listener on a contemplative journey through themes of hope, forgiveness, prayer and peace. The concert concludes with Pärt’s Vater unser, a poignant reminder that world peace begins in the human soul.
