Bird Songs of Australia brings together recorder virtuoso Genevieve Lacey, the Latvian Radio Choir, and conductor Kaspars Putniņš in a programme that opens their Australian tour. Spanning over five centuries of music, it creates a non-linear journey where Renaissance polyphony, Baltic masterpieces, and contemporary Australian works intertwine. Inspired by bird song research and composition by Hollis Taylor and Jon Rose, the concert explores the dialogue between human and bird voices, revealing surprising connections across cultures, nature, and time.
