The Latvian Radio Big Band’s 60th anniversary concert is not just a celebration, but a story about sound, people, and time. The Latvian Radio Big Band will share the stage with its closest creative collaborators — the charismatic British singer Ola Onabule, the brilliant Latvian vocalist Kristīne Prauliņa, and the versatile Intars Busulis. The evening will also be enriched by other special guests: instrumentalists and vocalists who have been part of the big band’s creative journey.
The program is designed as a musical retrospective that traces the evolution of the big band’s identity - from its classic jazz roots to contemporary, genre-crossing collaborations. It will feature compositions from the ensemble’s discography (Kārlis Vanags’ works for the big band, compositions by Maestro Raimonds Pauls), highlighting the most significant collaborations and stylistic shifts over the past decade. The program will include internationally renowned pieces, the golden repertoire of jazz, and jazz standards.
