A special musical event in the Chapter Hall of Riga Cathedral, featuring kokle player and improviser Laima Jansone and multi-instrumentalist Madara Pētersone. The creative worlds of both artists are united by an interest in the exploration of sound and timbre, world music traditions, improvisation, and the possibilities of electronic music. The program features unique electroacoustic compositions and improvisations in which the sounds of the kokle, handpan, Native American flutes, didgeridoo, overtone flutes, and other world music instruments will blend with electronics, creating an unusual and captivating soundscape. The concert will also be complemented by the artists’ stories about the instruments, their history, and the creative process, fostering a special dialogue with the audience.
