On stage, two young artists meet the most traditional of Latvian musical instruments - the kokle, which they have both played together since childhood. In this performance, in which not a single word is spoken, sound and movement become the language of communication. In their hands, the kokle is not just a musical instrument, it is a responsive playing partner and a living archive, reminding them of personal choices and deep roots that extend beyond a single generation.
At the heart of the performance is the kokle — both a musical instrument and a link to family, ancestry and tradition. Its live sound intertwines with movement, exploring the essence of creativity, the search for one’s own path, and the courage to follow what feels true to oneself.
The performance features kokle player Kristīne Tukre and actor and musician Dzintars Lipors. Directed and choreographed by Lilija Lipora.
