How a Spiral Works - contemporary circus dance performance

A dancer, an aerial acrobat, a dramaturg, and a rope come together in a shared exploration of rotation, bringing together the disciplines of dance, aerial acrobatics, and hair hanging. Everyone here is connected and interlinked, influencing one another. Two must become one. This performance is an invitation to slow down. The meditative nature of the performance challenges the constant rush of everyday life.

The performance explores the relationship between falling, flying, and catching oneself. It searches for connecting bonds between earth and air. Each longs to find a meeting point, yet this is difficult when existing in different spaces. Two broken pieces together form one whole. Each tries to overcome their individual obstacles while helping the other reach a point of stillness. The performance is an attempt to find new ways of presenting contemporary circus by moving beyond its boundaries and connecting it with dance, digital art, and more. It is a search for new perspectives and innovative applications, while preserving beauty in simplicity.
