The Orchestra Riga organizes classical music concerts at Riga Dome Cathedral in the summer, in which, in addition to the sounds of wind instruments, the grand organ of the cathedral church also plays an important role. This concert will be performed in collaboration with organist Ilona Birģele.
The programme includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Hector Berlioz, who are undisputed greats in the history of classical music. In addition, the conductor Valdis Butāns has also selected music by the American composer James Barnes, which is very important for the repertoire of the symphonic wind orchestra.
