Early Music Festival. French Baroque Masterpieces

The Early Music Festival is a charming event that offers the chance to experience the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque eras in the churches and concert halls of Old Town Riga. In the concert program, alongside the music of the French opera luminary and music theorist Rameau, the compositions of his compatriot Couperin - heavyweight of the harpsichord repertoire and exponent of the trio sonata form - will be performed, as well as the works of masters rarely heard today.

"Equally sophisticated is the enthusiastic family behind this historically informed performance of a program full of discoveries - leading Latvian harpsichordist Ieva Saliete and versatile violinist Agnese Kanniņa, transverse flutist Vita Rozēna-Gaļicka and baroque cellist Māra Botmane, tenor Ansis Bētiņš and the soprano Dārta Liepiņa," said the musicians.
