A special musical encounter with two shining and authentic representatives of world music - Senny Camara from Senegal and Burkina Azza from Burkina Faso.
Senny Camara is one of the few women in the world who plays the traditional West African instrument Kora. Born in Dakar and raised in the Sereru tribal tradition in Senegal, Senny combines the healing chants of Ndeup with the melodies of the Mandingo and Fulani cultures to create a sacred and hypnotic sound world. Her music is a story of love, spiritual strength and the uniqueness of women. In concert, Senny invites the audience to explore her world - between healing, the rhythms of nature and the clarity of the Kora strings.
Burkina Azza is a group of five brothers from Burkina Faso who embody centuries-old griot traditions. The group's name means “Burkina Griots” in Bobo. The musicians combine traditional instruments - balafon, djembi, bara, tama and doum - with contemporary African musical influences to create a lively and high-energy sound. The band's leader, Adama Koueta, is a renowned master musician and music teacher whose experience spans from France to Australia.
