Following a sold-out spring concert and a standing ovation from the audience, the Pink Noise Riga music festival announces the return of Intars Busulis and the Lush Life Quintet. The quintet’s second premiere, or Vol. 2.
During the festival’s spring session, the masterful musical dialogue between Intars Busulis and saxophonist Gints Pabērzs proved to be one of the most moving moments of the festival. The quintet, which also features pianist Matīss Žilinskis, double bassist Toms Poišs and drummer Rūdolfs Dankfelds, will once again interpret and breathe new life into the gems of jazz (and beyond) with aristocratic flair.
The quintet’s performance will serve as a natural prelude to the autumn highlight of the Pink Noise Riga festival, where, the following day, the first Sunday of Advent, global jazz legend Wynton Marsalis will visit Riga for the first time, accompanied by the Jazz at Lincoln Centre Orchestra and their popular ‘Big Band Holidays’ programme – marking the legendary orchestra’s first-ever performance outside the US.
