Leonardo da Vinci was a Renaissance genius known for his diverse contributions to art, engineering, and science. He was a scientist, architect, painter, sculptor, musician, philosopher, mathematician, anatomist, physicist, inventor, pacifist and animal advocate. The newly opened exhibition offers an opportunity to get to know this unique historical figure.
In the exhibition visitors will be able to view dozens of inventions reconstructed based on da Vinci's sketches, as well as reproductions of his most famous works, including the "Mona Lisa", the painting sold at a record price "Salvator Mundi" and the famous fresco "The Last Supper". Among his many projects are a self-propelled cart, flying machines, a parachute, a diving suit, a human-powered tank, various ball bearings, cranes, and many other devices and structures. Da Vinci's notes, sketches and technical drawings were compiled into so-called codices. It is believed that the artist's notes reached more than 13,000 pages, of which approximately 7,000 have survived to this day.
