The exhibition consists of 20 tapestries by textile artist Iveta Vecenāne and 200 blankets woven by masters of applied folk art crafts, offering visitors to appreciate the rich variations in materials, techniques and interplay of colours.
The exhibition aims to create a multidimensional environment for the story of the relationship between man, nature and art today. It provides an opportunity not only for professional and folk art to speak at the level of textiles, but also to broaden associations, to present the essential experience and synergy of different cultural disciplines, to promote understanding of the interrelationships between cultural heritage, textiles and design, to think about the development, preservation and transmission of the applied folk art sector to future generations.
