This year, the main theme of the celebration is the magic of the summer solstice period, or Jāņi in Latvian, which includes various rituals - both for maintaining health and for exploring the future, including fortune telling using computer programs, handwriting analysis by a professional graphologist, and merry song and dance in the spirit of the midsummer holidays.
Līga Reitere, an experienced herbalist, will share her knowledge of maintaining health and teach wreath weaving and the magical wreath dance together with folklorist Baiba Ērgle.
At the end of the evening, the popular band Ducele will perform on the large open-air stage in the park of the Ziemeļblāzma Palace of Culture, getting everyone in the mood for the summer solstice.
