
At the height of the summer solstice, the folk dance ensemble "Līgo" celebrates its 80th anniversary with a grand festive day titled “Līgo. Blossoming.” Throughout the day, TDA "Līgo" will perform nine concerts, while in between, visitors will have the chance to take part in various activities—group singing and dancing, wreath-weaving workshops, a shared fire ritual, and traditional folk dances.
Event entry from 10:00 AM
11:00 AM – Prelude with folk groups, cheese-making, and wreath weaving
2:00 PM – Opening concert of the grand celebration
4:00-7:00 PM – Concerts in the traditional farmstead settings of Kurzeme, Zemgale, Vidzeme, and in a Latgale village
8:00 PM – Midsummer songs with the band TKP ("Tā kā pērn")
10:00 PM – Premiere of the choreographic mystery “We Nine Brothers” - the longest Latvian folk song (choreographer: Jānis Purviņš)
