Big UEFA Conference League soccer is returning to Riga! On July 23, "FC RFS" will host Iceland’s Cup champion, "FC Vestri" of Ísafjerdur, in the first match of the second qualifying round.
"FC Vestri" plays in Iceland's second-strongest league, but has also regularly competed in the top division. A major turning point in the club's history was its victory in the Icelandic Cup last season, which earned it a spot in the UEFA European competitions.
In the first round of UEFA Europa League qualifying, "FC Vestri" faced off against the Azerbaijani champions, "Agdam’s Qarabağ", but lost on aggregate over the two-leg series. The club then continued its campaign in the UEFA Conference League, where it faced the Latvian champions, "FC RFS".
Stadium gates will open at 6:00 p.m. A large, free entertainment area will be open, offering activities for both children and adults. The "Andalūzijas Suns" café will be open, along with four concession stands in the stands, and the "Sportland" club merchandise store will also be open.
