In 2025, the Great Speedway will once again visit Latvia to welcome the world's fastest and best speedway athletes to Riga, on the Biķernieku track! On Saturday, the medals will be awarded at the second round of the U-21 Junior World Championships (SGP2), and on Sunday, you will see the most famous speedway riders at the eighth round of the Speedway World Championships (SGP) season.
- The second round of the 2025 DeWALT FIM Speedway GP2 of Latvia-Riga U-21 Junior World Championship (SGP2) will take place on 1 August 2025, but
- The eighth round of the 2025 OlyBet FIM Speedway GP of Latvia-Riga season of the Speedway World Championship (SGP) will take place on 2 August 2025.
The 1 August event is the FIM Speedway World Championship round for the U-21 age group, the young speedway riders who will soon join the Grand Prix competitors to battle it out with the world's fastest speedway riders for victories! The talented young speedway riders will be using the same bikes as the adults - fast and brakeless - giving spectators the chance to get to know not only what speedway is all about, but also the champions of the future.
The 2 August race is the FIM Speedway Grand Prix, the highest level of motorcycle racing in the world, with 500cc motorcycles. Reaching speeds of up to 120 km/h, four riders battle for victory on the track on motorcycles without brakes. This will be a great opportunity to watch Latvia's leading speedway rider, Andrzej Lebedev, perform on track in Bikernieki.
