Riga City Festival marks the founding of Riga with vibrant celebrations held across the city, including the Old Town, the 11 November Embankment and the city’s parks. The festivities bring together locals and visitors to celebrate the city’s history, culture and community spirit. Throughout the day, the city comes alive with concerts, street performances, children’s activities and artisan markets. Visitors can enjoy local food tastings, live music and a festive atmosphere in multiple locations, making it easy to explore different parts of the city while celebrating.
Throughout the day, the 11 November Embankment will transform into the heart of the festivities, featuring live concerts, creative workshops, food and drink areas, picnic spaces, street markets, and activities for all ages.
A longstanding birthday tradition, the Krastu Mačs (“Shore Match”) 24-hour basketball tournament, will once again bring together teams from both sides of the Daugava River. The tournament will be accompanied by live entertainment, competitions, and activities for spectators throughout the event.
