The Riga Chamber Choir Ave Sol traditionally presents a special gift to Rigans and visitors to the city- a free concert titled Christmas Oratorio. This year's concert will feature the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns’ "Christmas Oratorio". This time it will be performed at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Riga, in collaboration with the church organist and soloist Ilze Reine. The solo parts will be performed by five brilliant choir and opera soloists, whose voices will be accompanied by the string quartet "Sponte".
The concert will also feature the premiere of two new works – Andreas Johannes Theobald's "Ankunft" for soloists, mixed choir and organ, and Lauma Kazaka's "Liec mani kā zīmogu" (Set Me as a Seal)
for soloists, mixed choir, string quintet, harp and organ.
