The State Academic Choir "Latvija" and conductor Māris Sirmais invite you to a Christmas concert. The concert program has been created in honor of the centenary of German composer, arranger, and musicologist Clytus Gottwald (1925-2023), who gained worldwide popularity and recognition with his innovative a cappella transcriptions for choir of the most brilliant instrumental works.
The concert will feature music by Gustav Mahler, Maurice Ravel, Richard Wagner, Richard Strauss, Joseph Haydn, and Johannes Brahms, arranged by Klīts Gotvalds.
To mark the approach of Christmas, the concert will also feature new works by Latvian composers alongside the opuses of the world's greatest composers – beautiful arrangements of Christmas songs created by Ēriks Ešenvalds, Laura Jēkabsone, Jēkabs Jančevskis, Irīna Mihailovska, Eduards Fiskovičs, Rūta Olekša, and Ivars Rebhūns.
