On Easter Monday, Riga’s concert scene will be enriched by a special and spiritually uplifting event—a performance of excerpts from George Frideric Handel’s oratorio Messiah. The concert will feature the Riga chamber choir Ave Sol, the Vidzeme Chamber Orchestra, and soloists under the baton of conductor Andris Veismanis.
One of Latvia’s foremost experts on Baroque music, conductor Andris Veismanis, has selected the most significant turning points in the oratorio, creating a unique interpretation by performing its most important passages over the course of an hour and a half.
