The concert programme will feature choral works by American, British, German and Latvian composers, including pieces that have been particularly significant for both choirs during this season.
The North Rhine-Westphalia Youth Choir (Landesjugendchor NRW), conducted by Nicolas Fink, brings together around 50 talented singers aged 16 to 27 from across the region. The choir focuses on developing vocal skills and exploring music from different eras and styles — from J. S. Bach to contemporary genres and new vocal techniques. Its activities include regular rehearsal sessions, masterclasses, concerts, international collaborations, and recordings.
The mixed choir “Dziesmuvara” of the University of Latvia, led by conductors Nora Žeigure and Oskars Freimanis, combines Latvian choral traditions with a contemporary and creative sound. The choir performs a diverse repertoire and regularly participates in concerts, festivals, and competitions in Latvia and abroad.
