The concert will feature outstanding Latvian artists - soprano Viktorija Majore, bass Edgars Ošleja, organist Diāna Jaunzeme-Portnaja, as well as the string section of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra: Raimonds Melderis, Sandis Šteinbergs, Arigo Štrāls, and Jānis Rinkulis.
The program focuses on both spiritual and classical music compositions that highlight the values of humanity, faith, and belonging. Works by Latvian composers will reveal the rich musical language of our nation – from lyrical and deeply emotional melodies to monumental and spiritual opuses.
The concert program will feature music by Jāzeps Mediņš, Andrejs Jurjāns, Aivars Kalējs, Jānis Ivanovs, Jāzeps Vītols, Lūcija Garūta, Rihards Dubra, Emīls Dārziņš, and Raimonds Tiguls. Each of these composers has left their own special mark on Latvian cultural history, and on this evening their works will once again unite listeners in a shared festive mood.
A special highlight of the evening will be a light show, which will give the music an even deeper emotional dimension and transform the historic interior of St. John's Church into a sparkling festive scene.
