In its quarter-centenary year, the Riga Porcelain Museum presents a solo exhibition by the artist, the first director of the Riga Porcelain Museum, Jānis Ronis, and an exhibition of the products of the Piebalga Porcelain Factory, which he founded.
The first floor windows of the Riga Porcelain Museum display the solo exhibition of Jānis Ronis - a selection of porcelain artworks and forms developed for production in various periods. It traces the evolution of Jānis Ronis as an artist and reveals his unique style. Here you can appreciate how intricate and special the artist's handiwork is, each a single unique piece, while seeking parallels with the production of the Piebalgas Porcelain Factory, whose varied product forms were mostly created by Jānis Ronis.
The museum's exhibition hall on the underground floor will show a wider selection of works by the Piebalga Porcelain Factory, emphasizing both the design of forms and focusing on individual artists with whom the factory collaborates on both reproducible and unique decors. The first shape designs with which the factory made a name for itself, such as the Burzītā (2002) and Adītā (2006) collections, as well as the current Dimanta collection (2018), etc., belong to Jānis Ronis.
