
Riga's birthday celebrations will take place throughout the Old Town, as well as on the 11th November Embankment and in some city parks, marking Riga's 824th year as a city!
15–16 August:
21:00–01:00 — Musical fountains “Serenāde Rīgai”––a vibrant audio‑visual water show in the City Canal.
16 August (through 17 August):
12:00–02:00 — “Svini, Rīga!” on the 11 November Embankment. Expect popular musicians, DJ sets, light/video projections, and a festive atmosphere.
13:30–15:00 — The XVI 24-hour basketball tournament “Krastu mačs” at the Esplanade. Teams from Riga’s right and left banks, plus special matches featuring actors, musicians, influencers, and politicians.
10:00–22:00 — Riga Football Festival near the Congress Center — children and youth tournaments, local celebrities, spectator zones, DJs, and interactive activities.
10:00–21:00 — Artisan Market at Doma Square, showcasing authentic crafts.
12:00–22:00 — “Rīga(s) stāsti” at Vērmanes Garden. Theatre, concerts, magic shows, scientific experiments — great for families.
12:00–00:00 — “Alternatīvā Rīga” in Uzvaras Park. Creative workshops, contemporary performances, science demos, BMX, skateboarding shows — artistic and active.
14:00–18:30 — Street Music Festival across Old Riga — varied performances by professional and street musicians.
15:00–19:40 — Stelzen‑Art street performers from Bremen at Bastejkalns — family‑friendly and fun.
