Located on Town Hall Square in the heart of Riga’s Old Town, the Rātslaukums Tourist Information Centre (TIC) is the ideal starting point for exploring the city. Whether you’re visiting for a day or a longer stay, the centre provides reliable, up-to-date information to help you plan your time and discover both iconic landmarks and lesser-known spots.
Friendly staff offer personalised recommendations, including sightseeing routes, guided tours, cultural highlights and current events. Visitors can also get practical help with public transport, maps, brochures and tips for travelling within Riga and across Latvia. Consultations are available in several languages, making it especially convenient for international travellers.
If you are unable to visit the TIC in person, you can explore the city online via LiveRiga.com - the largest Riga information platform available in English, German, Lithuanian and Estonian. It offers plenty of ideas for your visit, up-to-date event listings and useful digital materials to help you plan your trip.
Why visit

It helps visitors save time, discover unique experiences and stay informed about current events and activities. Whether you need directions, recommendations or last-minute ideas, it’s a convenient and reliable place to begin your journey.
Historical highlight
The TIC is located in the premises of the Schwab House, designed by Karl Johann Felsko at the end of 19th century and erected right next to the 14th-century House of Blackheads. Both buildings were completely destroyed during the German air raid on Riga in June 1941. Fully reconstructed in 1999, the Schwab House now adorns Town Hall Square, along with the splendid House of Blackheads. The square also features the symbol of Hanseatic trading cities - the statue of Roland with the Riga coat of arms on the shield.
